Erm...
I'm a laptop buyer, and I don't want a "thin, light and cool" laptop. I want a laptop that's portable, but has some beef under the hood. In addition to that, I want a laptop that I get what I pay for. Finally, I want a laptop that can USE the hardware I pay for it to. Finally, I want a laptop with a good design, preferably with titanium or glossy black color scheme.

Apple fails miserably at everything except the titanium color scheme. Dell succeeds in everything except the glossy black color scheme.

Apple's design, I'll give them credit, is nice, and it has decent hardware under the hood. But, for the same price over at Dell, I can get a bigger screen, a mobile version of a Geforce 7800 GT (as opposed to a mobile X1600 XT), twice the memory, three times the USB ports, a faster DVD burner and, to top it all off, a slightly faster chip.

Sounds to me like Apple needs to get their act together, as not ONLY is the MacBook overpriced relative to it's undeniably superior Dell counterpart, it's also the SAME price as the "Powerbook G4." As it's name implies, the Powerbook G4 uses a G4 processor which is perhaps as fast as a tree. The Macbook is ridiculously more powerful than the Powerbook, yet clearly, Apple's pricing indicates otherwise.

Oh well.
