A little bit of physics.
In a vacuum a simultaneously falling feather and iron accelerates uniformly and hit the ground at the same time, but in real life (in our atmosphere) - the speed of fall is proportional to the weight, depends on surface area, on velocity and length.

For example, at high velocities the air drag is proportional to velocity squared, while at low velocities, it is proportional to velocity (it?s more complicated than I wrote).

Steve Jobs tests Macs in a ?vacuum?, in real life ? OS X makes a Mac twice slower if the Mac would be run under BeOS.
