Not likely, not today, not tomorrow
This is another good money going after bad. The solution to all distraction and the electronics and controls overload is not speech recognition, but an Intelligent Assistant technology that will balance the driver, machine, enviornment, history and regulation to assure safety based on the driving purpose.

For the last 5 years we have publicly and near publicly promoted such solution where computing power will be used to assist the driver instead of guessing what they want, but the Voice force is still out there raising funds and expecting
a breakthrough that never comes about.
Speech is complex, but so are the mirade of languages and accents out there. I doubut, Actually, I know that this venture is a waste of money and time, and will possibly lead to another big names banckruptcy.
