Do you watch ALL your children's on line activities?
Yup,

I log everything they do. And I watch from a far (another computer) when their friends are over. You would be surprised how fast teenage boys can find porn on the net. My blocked word list grows by four or five words every time my daughter lets her friends on her computer.

When she is alone, I have a word and site list filter that is running that e-mails me reports of her activities (attmpts to visit blocked sites).

Even when they are playing online PS2 games, there are chat features. I caught her chatting to a 17 year old (who I traced to L.A. by his internet IP address). Since she is 13, I figured it was not a healthy relationship and blocked his entire network segment from my LAN. The topics of conversation were also not what I would consider "good". She wants to grow up faster, so she is willing to take the risks. I;m her father and I'm still holding the reigns (on this one anyway).

Not everyone can do this, I have friends that asked me to route their connections through my network to see where there kids go, BIG SURPRISE to them... None of them would be able to do what I can, as they are just average users.

They have now moved their computers out in the open with the monitors facing out so they can see what is going on.

If you know of someone that has a kid with a computer that is in their own room, do them a favor and let them know it is NOT a good idea.
