Not anytime soon...
Microsoft has remained successful not just because of its size but because of the huge user base it has built up. The fact is 90% of users just don't know much about computers. That 90% just want Windows, IE, Word and maybe Outlook or Excel. These people are already familiar with these programs and I doubt they're going to invest time in learning how to use software that's marginally better.

You can argue until you're blue in the face that Linux is more secure, but most users don't care. They want something that's simple and familiar. Microsoft does gobs of usability testing and their goal is to fill that niche. Of course they still have to keep us power-users happy - but like I said, we're a small percentage...

So, servers aside, I don't think we're going to see a big change any time soon.
