AMD has always been a big player in discount systems (the kind you generally find at retailers). So by including the retail sector but excluding the direct vendors (Dell, Gateway, etc.) you're pushing the data towards AMD. Granted, Intel lost market share in that particular area, but without including the direct vendors we have no idea whether that was a general trend or whether people have just moved to buying nicer machines from Dell rather than Best Buy.
Without better statistics this just sounds like a bunch of hype. People need to stop trying to kill Intel - without them it'd be just AMD. Then everyone would be trying to kill off AMD because it'd be a monopoly.
