Bizarro World
We have truly become full fledged citizens of bizarro world.

The U.S. Congress and multiple Presidents Democrats and Republicans alike have actively encouraged companies to do business with and in China. For 20 years the Congress rubber stamped China's MFN status and in 1999 or 2000 ninety-five Senators knocked each other over trying to get to their voting machines to vote China into the WTO. Are they now trying to say they didn't know that China is a Communist nation that has routinely engaged in censorship and human rights abuses?

Congressman A: "I thought when they said China was Comooonist they was just funnin me."

Congressman B: "I thought Tianamen Square was a movie made in China, you know, like 'The Terminator' made here, not for real."

Congressman C: "I'm glad we apologized to the Chinese when our lumbering four engine turboprop chased down their mach 1.5 jet fighter and knocked it out of the sky. Our pilots were clearly in the wrong flying in international airspace. We are very grateful to the Chinese for not cutting off trade with us over an incident where we were so clearly in the wrong."

Congressman D: "How dare these companies follow the laws of the country they are doing business in. Mabe we oughta bring back McCarthy and investigate them for bein Comooonists."

Bizarro World, the world we live in.
