Shoved out of the market?
Some at least of the people being bought out by large companies have run a successful business according to plan.

I wouldn't be surprised to see those most successful at being bought out becoming consultants to others who expect to be bought out.

They might buy others' ideas for resale.

And the big companies could use them as brokers, a sort of scouting system for startups. Getting a good idea fast and cheaper than might occur in the event of bidding could be worth money.

The real question is whether promising products will even bother going to market before they're bought out.
