Everyones looking for the quick money. They might as well start looking for the Holy Grail or the Fountain of Youth. The majority of them will never make it.

The ones who are willing to take those 10-15 years to build a business and not want to be aquired are the people who are truely passionate about what they do and the product they have. It's worth the effort to see it through to them. The way the market is these days, there's a good chance they will be aquired, but it's not their goal. Personally, I would feel better dealing with these people than those looking for the quick out. If I were to start a business, I'd rather build it up than be bought out.
