Sevice companies will consolidate.
Which would a company prefer, services on a single product from a small staff or services on a range of products from a large staff?

Open source, encumbered source if you like, encourages this kind of consolidation. When your main product, the software, has limited value, the company will never be wealthy. (even the open sourcers agree the model can't produce large, $ billion companies.)

So, combining a lot of little revenue streams for individual software products to a larger revenue stream from services on a range of software products has obvious advantages.

Won't be long before we see Open Source Services Ltd.
