iPod rivals ready for prime time at last?

Markets are fickle: yadda yadda yadda...

Apple often get it right but have sucked in the past with
overpriced and non-standard hardware for their desktops. To be
sure, Jobs has placed the Mac at the centre of the server and
desktop markets now. Regardless of which OS is better Apple
often get the ideas right where as others don't or copy.

For once, Apple got the idea right AND the marketing/jump on
the competitors. It also works like a dream. Why would anyone
who owns or has used another player want to change. Having
used several competing devices to the iPod as mp3 players I can
see why they are the market leader.

If the balance changes to other players it won't be because of
anything the other companys do it will be becasue of what Apple
