iPod rivals ready for prime time at last?

Archos needs to step up advertising itself: it's been in the portable video arena longer than iPod Video and hasn't capitalized on that lead, nor really reduced their pricing barrier . . . though people seem willing to pay inflated prices for media players even over things such as a design factor. Entity's such as Creative should have a better lock on the music scheme and presentation but haven't drawn the number of customers, but they are such a "what's inside" entity that consumer recognition may not be there like an Apple product which stands out.
