"government agencies are using either "Web bugs" or permanent cookies to monitor their visitors' behavior, even though federal law restricts the practice."

Since when did paltry things like federal laws stop our wonderful freedom inspiring democratic plutocracy? Ain't it funny how when the man in the street breaks a law, all we hear about from the feds is THE LAW, and how it's important to follow the law, and we should never break the law, etc.
But when the feds break the law, it's to be expected. Those that question the feds should be ashamed of themselves, as they are clearly giving comfort to the enemy (even more comfort than the Bush administration gave to bin Laden's family when they were flown out of the US after 9/11).
It is apparently necessary to shred the constitution, because the feds won't be able to pretend like they are hunting bin Laden and the phony CIA/Mossad front, Al-Qaeda, unless the FBI can break and enter your home without a warrant, rife through all your stuff, and then place a gag order on you forbidding you from publicly saying that they were ever there (which of course effectively does away with the 4th amendment).
Now combine all the illegal eavesdropping with the fact that your home can be broken into without a warrant at any time, and there basically is no such thing as the 4th amendment anymore. Even more onimous: once everyone gets their national ID card equipped with the "terrorist fighting" GPS chip, the feds will know the exact times that you are not at your home, and could regularly be breaking into your house for years without your knbowledge. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
The feds need to start striking back at the enemy. They need to make up for all the comfort they gave to the enemy, when the feds ILLEGALLY destroyed all the precious forensic evidence of the WTC wreckage, thus precluding anyone from every finding out the true cause of the towers' collapsing. Makes sense considering the feds had nothing to do with the crime..;-)
Anyways, the NSA has better things to do with its illegal eavesdropping.
