Paying for email
I don't know how to work out the details as I am not techie enough, but what if email was through one entity and not thousands of ISP?s. So, every person, business etc, etc, just like regular mail has a unique address. It seems that like the post office everything goes in and everything goes out. All foreign email would have to clear the main post office server and if it is not paid it does not get delivered, same with domestic mail. I guess ISP?s would loose email appeal as a selling point or they could offer to put your mail box on their site for a fee and the individual ISP?s could pay the fees to the email post office.
That way even though there would be some cost to email, it could still be passed on through the ISP?s Or for a penny an email to users to an independent entity doesn?t seem like too much to stop the spam and at the same time keep the Government out of the whole mess.
Just a thought
