Won't work either.
What if I run my own domain and my own mail server?

What if.... what if... and more what ifs.

You can suggest all the ideas in the world, but they won't mean a thing should the people in charge implement something else.

No insult to you, because any ideas I or anyone else comes up with won't make the pay per email system actually work.

The only thing that would actually work would be to build another protocol and ensure everyone has a say so in it.

Sure, perhaps it could be cracked as well, but the mass volume of junk going across the backbone of the internet would sure lessen.

But you know, even that probably wouldn't work.

It's kinda' hard to stop greed, and if you look at spam today, that is what it is: greed.

You have tons of commercial software packages built to "eliminate spam" (as they claim) for both servers and desktops.

Both the spammers and the people "fighting" the problem are making money off of it.

Then you have this going on worldwide. Regulations don't meant squat when you can move outside the reach of the law.

It's just a massive reeking hairball everyone wishes wasn't coughed up (especially in their inboxes).

Just my doomsaying(s) for the day.
