Good idea

Too early to tell, wait for the decision before screaming too loudly. This is a tough one, on the one hand Apple has cool players, and they were the first to hit it big with them, I've always liked their computers and players, haven't had the chance to use them much.

But I've also used Creative audio cards forever, and now they make a great player of their own.

My Zen Touch 40 GB player is rugged (dropped more times than I can count, also got it wet several times to the point of the program locking up, unplugged the battery, dried it out and voila!), it works great, is fairly small, and I can't do without it now.

But, I'd bet that the two companies reach an agreement of some kind real soon, and maybe the consumers will reap the benefits. The prices on electronics just keeps dropping, while the quality just gets better. No matter what happens, I'm sure we'll all have lots of cool toys to play with.
