Wah! We didn't think of it first so we're going to sue!
They're just sore losers. When the iPod came out, it was a new and novel idea. It's been out for years now and has been using this idea for years now. I don't know if Apple was first, but Creative and Microsoft are just trying to shoehorn in on the business since they didn't think of it first. If Apple can't patent it despite having been on the market longer, then Creative and Microsoft sure can't.
