let me try to help you understand.

If you base your decisions on one piece of information, then your arguement applies.

The fact is, if you try to base your decisions on one piece of information, you will be wildly misslead in life.

On the other hand. If you are basing our decisions on a distribution of knowledge, every little piece is equally valuable in coming to a conclusion.

As an example:

When deciding that the world is round, it is equally important to listen to the guy who thinks the world is flat, than a guy who agrees with you, even if you think he is wrong. On the other hand, if you just like to argue things to pump up your ego, because you are competitive, you're probably to ignorant to listen to the guy who thinks the world is flat.

Can you imagine how ignorant and narrow minded people would be if they all only held validity in peoples opinions, when those opinions matched there opinion? Well if you are deciding whether something is true, invalid, or credible, that is only a matter of opinion. By staying open minded, you broaden your perspective of the world.
