Credibility
Hi, voice_of_all_reason.

See, you'll be able to get, say, an editor who can vouch for all star wars related articles, or even all science-fiction related articles, but you also have to hire a guy for "edible mushrooms indigineous to 15-century france in may" and another for "effects of neutrino particles on yak fur production."

I don't think the "edible mushrooms indigineous to 15-century france in may" would be an impossible task. There are historians who specialize in flora and fauna, and would be able to answer such a question. The yak neutrino problem is a bit different (assuming that there is some relationship), but if such a person can be found, with citations to studies, then so be it. The point is, any body of articles put forth as a reference work, to live up to the name, needs credibility, and when anyone can post on anything, there's zero credibility.
