Copy restrictions do not work, never will
Simply because it only take 1 person in the entire world to crack the protection then it's free on the net. Copy restriction aren't about stopping P2P swapping. They are about restricting how the legitimate buyer can legally use the property they own after they buy it.

For example. If I buy a CD and I can't convert it to play on my I-Pod then I am left with the option of buying it again on I-tunes. So they get me buy many time over for the same content. It's the same thing with TV. I can record shows now but they want to restrict that, not to stop P2P but to leave me with the only legal option to buy the shows on DVD or download service. So they are using laws to create revenue.

Wouldn't it be nice if I could pass a law saying everyone owed me a nickle every month. I'd be rich! That's my new business!
