Sony was a bad, bad, company...shame, shame
Well it appears this situation has not hurt Sony's bottom line...yet. But I'm sure it will soon. The problem is we see this news here on Zdnet, but as usual, not on other mainstream media. At least not in a way that people understand the scope of this invasion.

I don't necessarily agree with No_Axe either. I know a lot of people that plays CDs on their computer. But in a corporate environment, this is mainly not accepted because of problems it could cause the computer. And many music CDs have software, videos and such making them even less acceptable in a business.

It also appears that this technology is very limited and Sony knew this. It was not about copy protection, it was about tracking users activity. Anybody with the least bit of intelligence can circumvent the protection; so it wasn't about protecting the copyright. After all, who would spend the money Sony did for faulty software unless that was not their main intention.

Bad Sony, bad dog.
