Agreed. It's content control
The solution to this whole mess is to require the RIAA and MPAA member companies to distribute their products on hardware that has the product embedded in a LSI chip soldered into each individual device. That would solve their desire to prevent our use of the media in more than one playback device. Of course this might also subject them to having to pay royalties to the performers who originated the product which they have now included into their hardware. The performers might just get more money.
It would of course cut their profits to a level that would be way, way below what it would be if they had never started this unconstitutional path of questionable legality.
Our problem is that the current judges of this country seem completely unable to understand the language in which The Constitution of the United States of America was written. If they could understand this language, they would know that copyrights and patents can only be issued to human beings. They would understand that these ?temporary limited distribution monopolies? end at the earlier of a stated ?limited time? or the death of the originator.
