And that's not all.
There is no shortage of IT skills in the USA, from either citizens or legal immigrants and that is at any level. The fact is that there are too many people people living here who are going after too few jobs already. Many highly skilled workers are having to take lower level jobs just to earn a living and that too is getting harder with companies like ITT Tech churning out low level IT workers with their certificates in hand, flooding the market. If companies can get away with filling the middle ground and some of the higher jobs in IT with H1B's then before long we will not have any indigenous IT skills left. Oh and don't forget the twin to this "Out Sourcing" where many more software jobs disappear.

IT workers who live here and contribute to the US economy are under attack in so many ways, H1B's are but just the tip of the iceberg and what is by now obvious to many in the IT industry will be seen in any other sector too.

Maybe the government is looking ahead knowing there will be a shortage due to the large number of our brave soldiers who will be lost, fighting futile economic-evangelical wars around the world. I thought we had seen the last of the crusades in medieval times.
