The answer is simple ...

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize our current government is beholden to corporations. Our government is basically corrupt right now. You see that with the indightments, investigations, and so forth. There is a rot within it and corporations are enjoying the benefits.

Yes. It's obvious that HIBs provide a source of cheap labor. The government knows it. Corporations know it. We know it. But, the American people are allowing them to get away with it, so why not use them?

I'm a software engineering contractor. I'm usually brought in to work with the H1Bs to get a project out the door. Some of the H1Bs are fine software engineers. Most of them are very new and inexperienced. A great many of them are in it for the money. Just like Americans during the dot-com days. Everybody was a software engineer back then. I go to a software engineering user's group and I see only a few of the H1Bs I work with. Most of them don't go because they are only in it for the money. Unfortunately, as with most things, if you are only in it for the money, chances are you will be only a mediocre software engineer at best.

Anyhow, I believe next year is an election year. If you want change, well you know what to do.
