Great points Repeal.
We think of the political repression of the old USSR and the Nazi regime but at that time they had to physically track down and identify dissenters.

I paticipate in numerous on-line political forums and with the net and smart card technology every statement can be tied to an individual. Retribution for certain political speech? Now some may think it's a big leap to compare the use of this technology to the tyranny of the USSR but those who know history understand that it's not such a big leap after all. Those of us who are concerned about our childrens future can see where this is going and it's not good.
