Some Examples
Just look at this years "New" Fall Seasons...

1. One Channel remade Night Stalker- OK Night Stalker was a campy cult B-Horror Show, but did it need to be remade.

2. There are three alien shows with roughly the same plot. Invasion, Surface, and Threshold. Ohh well at least the SciFi channel will have some new rerun shows in a few years.

3. Was there really a need to make yet another Superman Series - The sad part is that SmallVille is one of the better shows on TV.

4. The Ring was a Remake of Ringu, a Japanese Horror Film. Ring Two was the third time a sequal had been attempted for Ringu- It was Flop. I'm sure the MPAA claims it flopped becuase of File Sharing instead of it being well- reheated canned crap.

5. Do we really need a remake of King Kong??

6. War of the Worlds- (One of the better summer movies this year)- has been remade how many times??

7. Freaky Friday- How many times can they remake this movie.

8. Instead of Remaking Movies Disney takes movies off the market and then Re-Release them over and over again. The current one is Cinderella.

9. They are Remaking the Russian Movie, that means they are stripping everythhing good about it and replacing it with suck, "The Night Watch" which will be the next "Big" movie.

10. Did we really need the two US Re-Makes of Godzilla. Did we really need a film version of the Fantastic Four. Wouldn't these work better, and have better audiences, as made for TV Movies or miniseries on the UPN and WB Networks??

11. What was the point of that HoneyMooners Movie with re-made with Cedric?? Well it could have been worse... the Bewitched movie- Do you hear me...I want my $7.75 and 2 hours of my life back.

12. MTV now has fake completly scripted "Reality Shows" ... - this is just bad.

13. There is still way too much reality crap on TV.

14. Instead of having ER drama shows, cop shows, and reality TV for 2005 they removed a some of the reality shows and un-funny Sit-Coms but replaced them with more cop shows and as a twist Alien invasion shows- Whoo Hoooo. I can now watch aliens take over the world on 3 chanles. They also remade Night Stalker and added Supernatural. Geee-Whiz those TV Execs are so bright. Cancel Star-Trek , which was gradually getting better, and cancel Angel, which was finally getting an audience, and replace them with new craptastic shows in the same vein.

15. Okay we have a psychic show called Medium on NBC and FOX did just so well with the Tru Calling show so the ohhh so clever execs at CBS give us ... Wait for it "Ghost Whisperers". Oh Yes Sir can I have another please.

Anyhow the reason why they are doing poorly is becuase they are churning out pure unadulterated junk. Not becuase of file-sharing.

Also several lies about the broadcast flag here in the article- most notably from the MPAA - To be expected. The broadcast flag is already implemented in the Comcast DVR and TiVo users got a taste of it just recently. The Broadcast flag is designed to allow the broadcasters to mark it several ways- 1 No copies, 2 Conditonal Copies (Time expiring), and 3 Unrestricted Copies (Yeah right). On the conditional copies they expire after a certain date. Comcast cable already have their recordings self earasing... this is so they can resell you the copy when it comes out on DVD. It also would keep you from keeping a copy of the SuperBowl Costume Malfunction. Really I don't see how they figure this turkey will prevent p2p trading as those determained enough will not trade it in the same format but rather in a compressed format, Like DivX, after it is ripped and there will be no broadcast flag on the ripped versions.
