I barely consume any media anymore. I NEVER go to the movies anymore, I rarely buy DVDs ( I own only about 10-15 movies), I NEVER buy CDs anymore. And the funny thing is that it's not some form of protest (not yet), it's just that today's entertainment completely SUCKS!!!
Where has all the good entertainment gone?!?! Where are the great rock bands of today? Where's the guns'n'roses or rolling stones of today? Where is the Mel Gibson or Harrison Ford of today? They've been replaced by girly non-leading men drips like Leonardo Dicaprio, Jude Law, Ben Affleck, etc. These little boys are not men, nor are they stars, nor are they actors that can open and carry films. And what's happened to music? Today all we have are wannabe thug rappers, disposable bubble gum pop, etc. There is no great rock anymore, or great metal, or even great rap. It's all underwhelming completely forgettable crap which falls by the wayside the second it's released.
And don't even get me started with the white trash idiots' box, TV. What happened to the Three's Company and Family Ties type shows? Where is an interesting series like V (with lizard aliens trying to take over earth)? They've been replaced by mindless white trash "reality shows", stocked with overly self-conscious losers who couldn't even get burger flipping jobs. What's most pathetic is that there is actually a large group of people out there that regularly watches this pseudo-entertainment.
So, to get to my point, let them lock it all up and throw away the key. Even with the unrestricted content that's out there I'm no longer a paying customer. Fuggedabout once they start monkeying with who controls and consumes what. It won't take a big change for me to kiss Survivor, Fear Factor, March of the Penguins, War of the Worlds, and Eminem goodbye. IMNSHO, all of this garbage should be served up through the medium of Charmin. - Posted by: Jeff Spicoli Posted on: 10/01/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
