The cop example and the concealed weapon example were a stretch.

The one about drinking isn't though. P2P companies provide their software and tell people not to use it to download copyrighted material but it happens anyways. Beer companies sell their beer and even take steps to prevent people from drinking and driving but it happens anyways.

The point I was making is that regardless of intent, both P2P and beer companies tell their users not to do bad stuff with their products. Yet one industry gets shut down because they can't prevent all users from doing harm and the other rocks on unabated. Even though the majority of people who have drank have done something really stupid while drunk.

Oh wait, they tried to prohibit beer in the past and didn't work because of the will of the people. I see the same with P2P.
