A gun wasn't meant to be used to murder someone. A bottle of whiskey wasn't meant to inebriate someone then put them behind the wheel of a car. There are valid, legitimate uses for these products. Now, if Smith and Wesson promoted their wares as a tool to rob a bank, then they are liable. If Jack Daniels promoted their wares as a great beverage for a long road trip, then they are liable. Get the idea?
