The cold, hard facts.
Just try to submit an ad to the print versions of the magazines published by the owner of this Website, Ziff Davis (the "ZD" in ZDNet). Even for 'PC Magazine'--they won't accept ads created on Windows. Here, peruse their ad file submission guidelines (from their Game Group Website, but the same production department does all of their publications):

Quotes from the specs:
"Macintosh formatted PC files are not accepted."
"We accept files via CD-ROM or 100mb ZIP formatted for the Mac."

Arguably the most technology-savvy publishing house on the planet, and: they don't think Windows is ready for Prime Time. And neither do 90+% of the rest of the world's graphic arts businesses (the U.S.'s third-largest manufacturing sector, according to the Printing Industries Association). As somebody who tries to create advertising materials on Windows, take it from me. Using Windows to simulate the capabilities and stability of the Mac is an extreme challenge, and for most of the workforce--not worth the bother. Windows users want to talk about the dominance of Windows on the desktop. Well, the Mac has complete and total dominance of the advertising and publishing industries. In other words, where the money is.
