Ben Franklin was right!!

(Paraphrase) Any man who would sacrifice freedom for security deserves neither.

It is time to grow up! I am sick to death of the demand for safety, security, pampering, and protecting. We have forgotten a fundamental principal. The more we restrict our ability to fail, we also, to the same degree, restrict our ability to succeed. When we remove our ability to feel bad, we also remove our ability to feel good and are left with no feelings at all. Is it any wonder that we are becomeing a bitter and beligerant people?

Is it any wonder we are dispised by many around the world? We have oppotunity, wealth and more security than 95% of the world, yet we whine like spoiled brats. America the beautiful indeed!

So when talking to me, have your hand out to give back. People looking for handouts will be ingnored. If demanding social change, you must be more concerned with the common good than your own self interest. If you are the government, understand that your every request will be scrutinized and distrusted. You have given me no reason to think otherwise.

Let us stand for what is right rather than what feels good. Let us stand for Justice rather than our right to sue as a get rich quick scheme. Let us stand for freedom even when it is not particularly safe. An most of all, let us stand for our inalienable right to PURSUE happiness, not the demand to have it handed to us.
