While I agree with you to lesser extent
I don't see this as terrorist threat. I think that's a little over the top. If you are relying on a camera to catch terrorist then you are too late. I mean what's the point of having a terrorist on film when he explodes? That doesn't save lives. Also I highly doubt that any security system that is designed to for national security would be a consumer device.

Now I could see say shop lifters using devices like this to foil those digital security cameras. Thost things are little more than web cam like devices, better but still consumer level because stores aren't going to fork out a fortune.
