Mistake in the Making
I used to attend the Boston MacWorld Expo, back in its glory
days. It's shocking how few remember that it used to be a
premier event for Apple and the entire Mac community. It only
moved to NYC when The Big Dig made it impossible to shuttle
between the dual event sites.

IDG would have been foolish not to try the move back to Boston
for a second year. It takes two years to tell whether or not the
crowd it really going to follow. The failure of the event is
Apple's fault. If they don't show, the vendors won't show, and
thus the user community, for the most part, won't show. THEIR
LOCAL MARKETING CENTER IS IN THE SAME COMPLEX AS THE
CONFERENCE, AND THEY DIDN'T BOTHER TO SEND SOMEONE
DOWNSTAIRS AND ACROSS THE COURTYARD! Unreal!

I've been an East Coast Mac professional for sixteen years, and
as loyal as I am to Apple, I don't appreciate their failure to show
up and support the community, just because IDG didn't seek
their approval to return to Boston!
