I don't think they actually will. If console makers do like the past, they'll run on a shortage, then they can get all this free advertising to the like of "hottest thing on the market this xmas". Sony did the same thing with the PS2, when they couldn't get them to market fast enough for the holiday season, so people that did get one instantly went to ebay to sell them for double the price and made a killing. I think the advertisements due to not being able to find one will be enough to boost sales exponentially, and has done so in the past. I see it having no problem once the holiday season is over and when it slows down, say next xmas, the prices will be brought down to where people will buy them. Marketing, suply and dmeand, it's a lovely thing, and these companies do it quite well.
