Well, I would hope...
...that Mr. Lee actually read the employment contract that he signed when he went to work for Microsoft. You know, the contract that included the non-compete clause. People really shouldn't sign something unless they've read it.

And BTW, the non-compete restriction is only for one year, not life-long.
