Wow! You really DON'T know anything, do you?
Those same labor forces that look so cheap and attractive now will come around to bite the opportunists in the ass. Right now, they have NO social infrastructure, NO onerous tax burdens, and NO regulatory boondoggles to deal with...not to mention no union hassles.

Once they've inherited the WHOLE 'American Dream', the tune they now sing will start to change....and the price will go up.

As for offshore code being of higher quality than home-grown, get a clue! The reason offshore only makes sense so long as it can be had for 10? on the dollar is because the OTHER 90? is still being spent on cleaning up and/or correcting that offshore product...This clean-up is still being done by AMERICAN workers.

In the near term future, this shortfall of expertise will be further exacerbated by the instituting of 'web standards'. This is already a requirement of some state's software contract guidelines. How will Bangalore contend with the requirements of Utah vs. the requirements of Calif. for web standard compliance? To put it bluntly, they won't.

If workers in Bangalore wish to enter the IT market, let them build the industry, and the economy within their OWN countries, instead of trying to skim the cream off the top of OURS. THAT is the only sure path to 'global prosperity'...otherwise, it's just a shell game, playing 'hide the pea', with Poverty being the pea that gets shuffled around from place to place, but never truly vanquished.
