Insulting and disingenuous
---Why was it insulting?---

Why was it insulting? It was essentially a large corporation
inconveniencing a small businessman without any offer of
compensation for that inconvenience. Yes, it would
reimburse his registration fee, but what about his time
and effort to update any stationary, business cards, notify
and customers of the new URL, etc.?
MS is right to defend their trademark, but give me a break,
they're asking this guy to make an effort on their part, so
they should compensate him.

More importantly, let's look at the real reason MS offered
$10. This is a standard bait and switch lawyer tactic.
Offer an insultingly low figure, wait for the other person to
respond angrily with a higher demand, then run to a judge
and declare that they're holding your domain name in bad
faith for ransom and don't have a legitimate reason to
