A new can of worms
[Dream's components include software for letting different DRM systems interoperate based on credentials held by individuals, not by particular devices]

Does this mean that you buy a LICENSE to use the media - INSTEAD of the media itself? Buy a certificate (credential), and that allows you to use a particular media file. This means that you can download a media file ANY TIME, ANY WHERE and you can read it because you purchased a RIGHT TO USE LICENSE. This is NOT what the media companies want - paying over and over for records, 8-tracks, cassettes, CDs and DVDs for the EXACT SAME CONTENT. They don't WANT to sell user licenses! THIS would be the best scenario for the customer - I buy rights to U2s catalog and I can listen to them for as long as I live! YEA SUN! happy
