What I find interesting is that most of the basic technology for alternative fuel driven vehicles has existed for nearly 200 years.

Yet there is this clamor about the new technology. I will say that the American people has been spoiled and that contributes to the lagging development. There have been viable alternatives for a long time but usually the vehicles were underpowered or just not cool. That is the consumers contribution to the lagging sales. I will also admit that the oil companies had a hand in suppressing development also. I find it even more interesting that the oil companies are now deeply involved in alternative fuel technology on all levels. The why is real easy......CONSUMER DEMAND.

My business is linked with the trucking industry. Many of my truckers complain that they would gladly purchase biodiesel but availability is small. I blame the gov and big oil for this. Big oil because they do not want to deal with commoditites as soy or corn oil and the gov because of incentives they have created. This country is the land of liberty all right but liberty can be replaced with subsidy.

All this having been said it proves one thing only, change is always slow when it comes to product acceptance. It COSTS for distributors to change and current demand does not justify the costs. Sigh so it goes.
