Yeah.... I read it (Sparky)
>>or did you miss the part where the part of the bill that pushes this was authored by a Republican AND a Democrat? or are you just looking for another ignorant reason to Bush bash?<<

That PART of the bill was bipartisan. So? It was still a joke compared to other possible measures we could take. The things LACKING in the bill are what I'm bashing Bush about. And, by the way Bush-boy, I'm NOT ignorant.

>>Out of the millions (yes, millions) of acres there, they want to drill in about 2,000 acres - all of which has about as much in common with any area of the moon - pretty much barren rock. Explain to me how that is considered "pristine"? I'd really love to hear it.<<

"Pristine"
1. Remaining in a pure state; uncorrupted by civilization.
2. Remaining free from dirt or decay; clean: pristine mountain snow.
3. Of, relating to, or typical of the earliest time or condition; primitive or original.

I'd say that pretty well defines it. Just because it's "rock", doesn't mean we should be there screwing it up.

>>And before you start spouting off about how it's going to ruin the mating season of the caribou or some such nonsense, please remember that argument was tried with the Alaskan Pipleline - only to have it increase the population of the native fauna.<<

Typical conservative response. Rather than address the issue and do something about it, you start "spouting off" about the few instances in which those with concern for the environment were supposedly "wrong". I guess the logic is supposed to be that if environmentalists were wrong once, they are always wrong? Is that it?

>>I don't what is worse, the IGNORANCE of people like you who spout off about something they absolutely know nothing about or the ARROGANCE of said same people <<

Hmmm. Well, I guess I don't know what is worse. Calling people ignorant (an insult) when you don't know anything about them, or calling people ignorant because they don't agree with your POV. I guess because you don't want to be inconvenienced in any way and feel that we should just consume everything we can get our hands on, I'm "arrogant" for pointing that out. So be it.

Excuse me for saying so (to you and several others here), but it's you and the rest of consumption-happy America that are ignorant and arrogant. You're also in denial.

I'm done discussing this. I'm off to go spread my ignorance in other forums.
