Wake Up Earlier?

The original thinking for Daylight Savings time was to provide a shift as the days get earilier and later, but the fact of the matter is that people just need to learn to get up by 5am, and that the world doesn't need to be illuminated in order to get up.

I really do not understand this. I get up at 6am every morning or earlier if needed.

How about we shift prime time television an hour earlier? For those that watch TV, it would make a difference.

People don't care to get up at 5am, because they think of that time as early, is it going to be any different if they call that time 6 am?
