- I use others every day.
-
I work on almost every OS available, daily. Unix is great for massive workload, yet is only manageable by a select few. Mac OS is "pretty" visually, and has to have a monster of a PC to operate efficiently.. (but is like comparing apples to oranges). Linux has great a good outlook, but is still building on what they have to offer.. they're new.
Microsoft, on the other hand, didn't get to where they are by accident. The pure depth of the operating system and features that they've been building on are remarkable. Right now.. the broad range of expandability with all of them are incredible and great competition. Whether you like one OS or another, be happy that they're all around.. because it means more technology.
In retrospect, I've used most OS out there... but, ease of use (for everyone).. speed.. security and power.. goes to Server 2003 SP1 (R2 is pretty decent as well). It's not the most reasonably priced, but to the techie out there that wants to harness every bit of power and still have useability with a vast amount of programs... 2003 is everything without all the bells and whistles.
And "johnadurcan"... Everyone's always had the "freedom of choice" how can it be brought back? - Posted by: mockylock Posted on: 09/01/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
