This article is more proof to me, regardless of poaching and contracts between workers and employers regarding industry knowledge, that the IT talent wars are back. Right now, its just the top "cream" of talent in IT...but I predict will eventaully translate into a talent shortage and then salary raises and then an IT crunch in the US, despite all these predictions that foreigners will replace IT people here. We are seeing just the beginning of this trend towards the opposite. This article is more about a fight and competition for IT talent and innovators in the US labor market (and world market to some degree) than it is trying to prevent loss of senstive industry knowledge to competitors.

Its funny because so many people keep saying offshoring will destroy jobs in the US for IT workers. And everyone keeps saying IT is expendable, and a commodity anyone in the world can do the same innovation people do here and so much cheaper. So, far thats doesnt seem to be the path IT jobs are going towards. I think a labor boom for IT people with up-to-date skill sets is coming for US people. The fight for talent in this industry is a reflection of that.
