wow, how can you cut innovation?
Alan Kay is one of those people allot of companies are begging for on their R & D teams and for any arrogant business manager (CEO) to come in and effect such a loss is pure stupidity in my opinion.

I hope HP goes down the drain after this last cut...I bet they pay a huge price for cutting their technology talent. They wont see their mistakes until long after the bottom line comes in year from now. That whats so sad...its takes cycling through several CEO's and money to prove a practice wrong.

In my opinion, ANYONE can be a CEO. Kinda like that old Eddie Murphey movie where a homeless man was made president of a company and proved he could do just as good a job. That how I feel these days. I think thats actually the case if you look at how many people actually start businesses in this country with little if any managemnet experience and succeed. Its not rocket science anymore....but technology really is and will get more and more like that as it continues to influenec the destiny of business.

I say, lets make Alan CEO...but Im sure like any intelligent person, he wouldnt want the job!
