You are absolutely right.
Kids shoud learn to value honest, innovative, productive work. They should also be taught that the celebrity lifestyles are void of any long term human fulfilments. But kids NEED to be taught at home and in the school. Kids grow up and form their characters by monitoring and immitating the adults around them. Kids who grow up infront of the TV will end up immitating the fake "heroes" the TV promotes.

I wholy agree with you that people should learn to value education and the pursuing of truth and honesty. What people must understand though is that the MIND is most valueable part of the equation: does not matter how many computers you have, or DVDs with textbooks, etc. Unfortunately high schools and Universities underemphasize the value of training the mental faculties of the mind.

Again good mind though is not enough. Good character is MORE important, as most often times, what is needed is good common sense applied honestly and gracefully.
