Ironically these are AMONG the majors that should be EMPHASIZED
``... I have to give a warning to every American: do not send your kids to schools learning IT related majors. Say no to CS, EE etc.''

in the US and EU.

More Science and Engineering LESS legalishism and MBA bolognia. Without engineering skills a country WILL ALWAYS BE importing technology and products.

Otherwise, you may have to ask, say, Korean firms to lay fiber optic networks, or ask the Germans to build power generation/transmission for you.

The recent problems in the US have been exacarbated by the high profile SCANDALOUS book cookings of "big" corporations like Enron or WorldComm which in essence were producing NOTHING!

They were like the middlemen in the production and consumption of products and services. Billions were lost there, which did NOT go to build power generation factories or transmissions / communications lines, but they were pocketed by 'respectable' CxOs.

Another problem is Wall Street: they often abuse certain indicators in the performance of firms. This pretty much forces the various firms to only provide the "right" facade so they can simply labeled with the "right" words by the fin. "analists".

Nevertheless, people should wisen up and make the right choices.

BTW: the US in the late 80's was WAY different than it is right now. It is not better now.
