MCSEs EXPOSED
A little history about MCSE: What is that MCSE really? Well, it happens to be part of Microsoft's marketing strategy. Anyone off the street, without any computer experience could pay $10,000 for a 5 day 'boot camp' crash course. They memorize the answers to the questions and pass the test. What is wrong here? Well, for starters, this course only covers extremely basic systems and networks concepts. It is cleverly structured in such a way to make the drones part of the larger marketing strategy and monopoly. No open standards, no valuable skills, only Microsoft centric world.
So, Mr. MCSE becomes the systems administrator or IS manager, does good enough installing Windows(defaults), knows Active Directory and sets up file permissions. Problems with the server or desktops? Simple, Just reboot the server or re-install Windows. If that doesn't work, asks his Linux buddy or Microsoft Tech Net.
Can they work with other systems? Hell NOOOOO!
Do they really have a good understanding of computer systems internals and integration with other systems like Linux? Hell NOOOO!
Just ask Mr. MCSE: Can you migrate our systems or integrate Linux and open source solutions? This question is his nightmare. He will rather find any excuse. THEY DON'T HAVE THE SKILLS!
On the other hand, a Linux skilled professional knows WINDOWS AND LINUX AND CAN HELP YOUR COMPANY CHOOSE WHAT'S BEST FOR THE COMPANY NOT HIS LIMITED SKILLS.
