How about Content?
The name "Flash" almost says it all. HTML started as a universal standard that allowed for extensive document formatting across formatting. Does eye candy improve communication?

Flash would be a good standard if this type of content is needed. Flash deserves kudos for being a clean compact format in what it does across platforms. It is also one of the least invasive applications of its kind. In example, I avoid receiving content with Real Player as it always want to do all sorts of unwelcome things like add startups and phone home. Then again, Real played well with others until it got to a critical size. I hope the same doesn't happen with Flash.

By the way, Adobe Acrobat should be included with any mention of Flash in the context of proprietary standards that provide very useful content in ways that public standards fail.
