"Yes, patents keep you from using *my* ideas in *your* product
without my permission. WHat's your point?"

No patents keep me from using your patented concepts in my
products. Its says very little about whose ideas they are.

It cost a great deal of money to patents an idea, much more to
to defend it, which is why the vast majority of patents are held
by large companies.

Small companies are at a significant disadvantage to large
companies in this regard.
