While it's not true "on-demand" (you have to pick from the up to 55 options per day DirecTv offers) it's the next best thing. You pay for and "download" a movie with the click of your remote and it's stored on your DirecTiVo until you delete it. By buying an upgrade kit for your DirecTiVo you can store hundreds of hours worth of material. We find we don't rent DVDs much anymore even though BlockBuster is just a couple of blocks from our home. I think DirecTv, Dish, and the cable companies will make this more of a reality via DVRs before any strictly internet-based company cashes in on it. Easy of use is the key and it doesn't get any easier than clicking the button on your remote.
